ST. LOUIS, Feb. 14, 2019 — Emerson (NYSE: EMR) today announced that it has released a new Vilter line of high-performance compressor lubricants for rotary screw and reciprocating compressor applications. The Vilter 717FG food-grade ammonia compressor high-performance lubricant is for use with reciprocating and rotary screw compressors, ammonia refrigeration applications.
With excellent thermal, oxidative and hydrolytic stability that allows for extended drain intervals, the lubricant offers a range of benefits to customers. Its stable viscosity and low pour point allow the product to remain effective in applications where temperature extremes are required.

This new lubricant has the same high-performing characteristics of Our Vilter717 oil, offering excellent chemical stability in the presence of ammonia. Vilter717FG can now be stored with all other food-grade lubricants and can be added to existing systems using Vilter 717 oil in our customer’s facilities.”
Emerson’s Vilter717 & Vilter717FG are high-performance ammonia compressor lubricants based on severely hydrocracked, iso-dewaxed oil. Vilter717 & Vilter 717FG are formulated with an advanced additive system developed for effectiveness in an aggressive ammonia environment. This product displays thermal, oxidative, and hydrolytic stability allowing for extended drain intervals. The stable viscosity and low pour point make the product very effective in applications where temperature extremes are required. Vilter717 & Vilter 717FG provide very low foaming performance in ammonia systems.
