Copeland boosts agricultural efficiency for mushroom plant
Challenge: Dalishi's mushroom plant in China required a cooling solution to ensure precise, stable temperature control for its cultivation processes. The system needed to guarantee reliability in extreme heat while significantly reducing high energy consumption and maintenance costs to support sustainable agriculture goals.
Solution: Partnering with Guangdong Fusheng Refrigeration, we deployed a Copeland ZB series scroll compressor rack solution. This advanced system delivered over 15% energy savings, a 28% coefficient of performance improvement, annual energy savings of 760,000 kWh and 76% lower maintenance costs. It ensures precise temperature control and stable performance in extreme heat, supporting China's green agriculture goals.
Copeland delivers reliable flash freezing for food processing
Challenge: A Foshan, China, food company required a refrigeration solution capable of flash freezing 36 tons of meat products to -18°C daily. The system had to guarantee strict temperature control for food safety, meet rising national energy-efficiency standards and deliver exceptional reliability and cost-efficiency.
Solution: With Guangzhou Fusheng Refrigeration, we deployed Copeland ZFI low-temperature scroll compressor racks. Operating with zero failures, the system delivered exceptional freezing performance and power savings that exceeded expectations.
Cold storage solution addresses challenges for farmers in India
Challenge: India's off-grid farms face significant post-harvest challenges due to unreliable cooling solutions, leading to crop waste and income loss. A sustainable, energy-efficient approach was needed to effectively tackle these pressing issues.
Solution: Copeland and Ecozen developed solar-powered cold rooms with Copeland ZBW variable speed compressors. These systems deliver efficient cooling, save 17% energy and operate in low sunlight. With 300 units deployed, they cut CO₂ emissions by 22 metric tons annually while boosting farmer income.
Digital compression and remote monitoring extend product life
Challenge: Chazy Orchards in New York required four new controlled-atmosphere rooms equipped with remote access and monitoring capabilities. However, the facility's reliance on single-phase power posed challenges. Traditional units struggled to maintain precise temperatures, frequently cycling or resorting to inefficient hot gas bypass systems due to significant outdoor temperature fluctuations and varying inventory levels.
Solution: Copeland digital X-Line units were installed — three single-phase 5 HP systems per room. This solution reduced condensing unit cycles by matching loads from 20-100%. Digital compression, smart diagnostics, electronic expansion valves and remote monitoring stabilized temperatures, boosted reliability and lowered energy costs by about $7,000 annually.
