Copeland to Highlight Low-GWP Technologies at CMPX 2026

Advancing decarbonization across heating, cooling and refrigeration applications

ST. LOUIS (March 12, 2026) – Copeland, a global leader in compression technologies and controls solutions, announced its participation in the 2026 Canadian Mechanical & Plumbing Exposition (CMPX), taking place March 25–27 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. At the event, Copeland will showcase integrated solutions that accelerate the adoption of lower global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants across heating, cooling and refrigeration applications.

The built environment is estimated to account for approximately 40% of global carbon emissions, with commercial buildings and food retail representing significant contributors. Copeland drives progress through innovation that directly supports global sustainability goals — delivering next-generation heating and cooling solutions optimized for lower-GWP refrigerants and enabling safer, more resilient cold chains that protect food and other vital goods from loss.

Across Canada, contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system designers are balancing performance, costs and evolving efficiency requirements as demand grows for lower-impact refrigerants. Federal incentive programs and Canada’s offset protocol are helping accelerate the transition to low-GWP refrigeration systems. To support this shift, Copeland’s portfolio is designed to help customers meet these expectations while improving efficiency, reducing environmental impacts, and strengthening long-term system performance.

At CMPX 2026, Copeland will highlight technologies in three key areas:

  • Advanced CO₂ systems and controls: Engineered to provide efficiency, optimize system performance and support compliance with evolving low-GWP regulations.
  • A2L technologies: Compressor and system innovations that simplify transition, prioritize safety and maintain operational excellence in a changing regulatory landscape.
  • Food retail and connected controls: Compression, case-level solutions and facility-wide control systems operating within a fully connected ecosystem, delivering actionable insights to improve energy efficiency, compliance and profitability.

Michael J. Squires, solution strategy and business development manager for Copeland’s Americas business, will present “Lead the Charge in Water Heating Decarbonization” on Thursday, March 26, from 10–10:30 a.m., in Room 705, offering insights into advanced heat pump technologies and strategies supporting building decarbonization.
