Copeland Launches ZF/ZFI 10-20HP Scroll Compressors
Advancing low-temperature cooling solutions to enhance cold chain efficiency and sustainability in Asia
SUZHOU (March 4, 2026) – Copeland, a global provider of compression technologies and controls solutions, has introduced its ZF/ZFI 10-20HP scroll compressors and solutions for low-temperature cold chain applications. The product line is designed to provide versatile cooling solutions for the food industry, helping customers address performance challenges, reduce operational costs and meet stringent sustainability standards.
The cold chain protects food safety and quality while also playing a critical role in reducing food waste and meeting growing food demand. According to a report from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Sustainable Cooling in the ASIA-Pacific Region, refrigeration accounts for 35% of total hydrofluorocarbon (HFC)-related cooling emissions. To help ensure food availability and achieve local decarbonization goals in Asia, adopting highly efficient and sustainable cold chain technologies is essential. The launch of the ZF/ZFI scroll compressor line underscores Copeland’s commitment to advancing the energy transition and preserving perishable food through a sustainable cold chain.
“Leveraging decades of expertise in cold chain technology, we are committed to driving innovations that help our customers overcome crucial challenges,” said Tarun Singh, senior director, cold chain, APAC and IMEA at Copeland, “Our ZF/ZFI 10-20HP scroll compressors have increased our cold chain application coverage with an expanded operating envelope, exceptional reliability and durability. These compressors use advanced compression and smart electronics technologies to help customers advance efficiency, reduce emissions and achieve long term success.”

Copeland ZF/ZFI 10-20HP scroll compressor
Available in 10–20 HP models, Copeland ZF/ZFI scroll compressors operate efficiently from -45°C to 7°C*, delivering energy-efficient performance for cold rooms, cold storage, supermarkets, food retail and light industrial applications. Key advantages Include:
- Robust reliability: Features Copeland dual-compliant scroll technology, optimized the moving parts and bearing system for better lubrication and integrated advanced electronics to help diagnosis and enhance reliability while helping reduce maintenance frequency and costs.
- Exceptional efficiency: Enhanced vapor injection (EVI) technology improves energy efficiency and lowers operational expenses. Optional vapor or liquid injection scroll design optimizes cooling capacity under demanding conditions, advancing performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Future-ready refrigerant flexibility: Compatible with HFCs and low-global warming potential hydrofluoroolefins (HFOs) refrigerants like R-448A, R-449A.
- Compact, low-noise design: Ideal for urban installations with space and noise constraints.
Copeland also unveiled the ZF/ZFI 10-20HP scroll compressor integrated solution with advanced electronics for improved protection, control and efficiency in low-temperature conditions. Key features include discharge temperature (DPT) and motor protection, oil monitoring and return control, low oil level protection, EVI and liquid control. The solution also offers smart Bluetooth connectivity for easy commissioning and quick troubleshooting via mobile devices.
