Copeland’s Expanded Scroll Compressor Manufacturing Advances Capabilities in India
Manufacturing capability supports customers across critical refrigeration applications
ATIT, India (November 2, 2026) – Copeland, a global leader in compression technologies and controls solutions, is the first company to manufacture scroll compressors in India following the expansion of its manufacturing capabilities in Atit. Production of this technology has been underway in Atit since December 2025.
The Atit expansion is part of Copeland’s investment initiative announced in 2024, which also includes enhanced engineering and innovation capabilities in Pune.
“India is an important strategic market for Copeland, with a strong economy and continued growth in the HVACR market,” said Ross B. Shuster, Copeland’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our ₹500 crore investment into our India operations reflects our commitment to our local customers, building on the expertise, talent and capabilities we have in the country.”
The locally manufactured scroll portfolio includes fixed- and variable-speed solutions for compression applications across residential, commercial and cold chain, helping reduce lead times, increase flexibility and provide greater customization to meet customer requirements.
“Our continued investment in India supports the ‘Make in India’ vision and builds on the expertise of our India-based colleagues,” said Jagadish Keswani, President, India, Middle East & Africa for Copeland. “By combining advanced engineering and innovation capabilities in Pune with expanded manufacturing in Atit, we are bringing high-efficiency technologies closer to customers and developing solutions for India and markets around the world.”
These products will be showcased at RefCold India in November, where Copeland will feature its cold chain technologies and solutions. For more information about Copeland, visit copeland.com.
