Hydronic Heat Pump Compression Solutions

Legacy residential hydronic heating systems use gas-fired boilers to generate hot water distributed to radiators, baseboards and underfloor piping. Hydronic heat pumps (air-to-water) are poised to decarbonize these systems, providing year-round cooling and heating, and often domestic hot water (DHW). Copeland compression technologies deliver water-leaving temperatures needed to achieve desired comfort and hot water levels, while continuously maximizing system efficiencies.

Copeland supports the electric water heating market with cutting-edge compression technologies. Fixed- and variable-speed platforms are equipped with enhanced vapor injection (EVI) technologies to enable original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to achieve sufficient water temperatures in low-ambient conditions. 

Enhanced vapor injection technology

Copeland’s fixed- and variable-speed scroll platforms are equipped with enhanced vapor injection (EVI) technology, which enables OEMs to achieve sufficient leaving water temperatures in low-ambient conditions. EVI technology, combined with optimized compressor operating envelopes, delivers best-in-class hydronic heating performance.
